In a bid to bolster the startup ecosystem in Maharashtra, the Maharashtra State Innovation Society, under the Government of Maharashtra, has announced the upcoming Startup Week 2024. This initiative aims to identify and support innovative startups that have the potential to transform governance and create significant social impact.
The event is open to all India-based startups that possess a valid DPIIT (Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade) recognition certificate and have a deployment-ready Minimum Viable Product (MVP). Startups that meet these criteria are encouraged to apply online. From the pool of applicants, the top 100 startups will be shortlisted to present their ideas, out of which 24 will be selected across various sectors.
The Maharashtra Startup Week (MSW) 2024 is a strategic initiative designed to not only showcase but also support the most promising startups. Winning startups will be awarded direct government work orders worth up to INR 15 lakhs each. These funds will be allocated to pilot solutions with various Maharashtra Government departments, with a support period extending up to 12 months for deployment.
In addition to financial support, the selected startups will gain access to a wealth of resources, including mentoring from industry experts, cloud credits, and networking opportunities with investors and industry leaders. This holistic support is aimed at helping startups scale their innovations and bring them to market.
For startups interested in participating, the Directorate of Industries in Port Blair is available for further inquiries. DPIIT-recognized startups can visit the Directorate at Middle Point, Port Blair, on any working day to get more details on the application process and other relevant information.
This initiative is expected to not only provide a platform for startups to demonstrate their potential but also to contribute significantly to the broader goal of fostering innovation and entrepreneurship within Maharashtra and beyond.
