In a recent announcement, the general public, business entities, and stakeholders in the Andaman and Nicobar (A&N) Islands have been notified of a temporary disruption in GSM Mobile Services provided by Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL). The interruption is scheduled for September 15, 2023, and will take place between 0000 and 0300 hours, lasting for approximately 3 hours.
The scheduled downtime is necessary to facilitate essential maintenance activities aimed at improving the network. BSNL has assured that all possible efforts will be made to minimise the duration of this disruption, ensuring that mobile services are restored as quickly as possible.
During the maintenance window, the following services are expected to be affected:
– Voice and data services for BSNL’s 2G, 3G, and 4G networks will be temporarily unavailable.
However, it’s important to note that the following services will remain unaffected and operational:
– Landline services
– Broadband internet services
– Leased line services
BSNL recognises that this temporary disruption may cause inconvenience to its valued customers and stakeholders. The inconvenience is deeply regretted, and the company aims to complete the maintenance work efficiently to ensure that normal mobile services are resumed promptly.
Customers and residents of the A&N Islands are advised to plan accordingly and make necessary arrangements during the specified downtime.
