Acting on reliable intelligence about the illegal storage and sale of liquor, the Kadamtala Police successfully conducted a major raid at Shop No. 11, Uttara Market, uncovering a substantial quantity of illicit Indian-Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL).
A police team, led by Sub-Inspector P.M. Krishna Kumar, Station House Officer (SHO) of PS Kadamtala, and comprising ASI Buddhiswar Haldar, HC Sailen Halder, and PC(D) Santosh Kumar, swiftly reached the location and executed a thorough search. The operation resulted in the recovery of:
– 30 bottles of 180 ml Double Kick Fine Whisky (sealed).
– 1 bottle of 375 ml Milestone Blue Triple Distilled Grain Whisky (seal broken, containing 150 ml).
– 1 bottle of 180 ml Double Kick Fine Whisky (seal broken, containing 90 ml).
The liquor was found in the possession of Sujoy Mondal (24), son of the late Niran Mondal, a shopkeeper residing at Uttara Corner. Upon being questioned, Mondal failed to produce any valid permits or licenses for the storage and possession of such a large quantity of liquor.
Legal proceedings have been initiated against the accused under the relevant provisions of the Excise Regulation for unauthorized possession and storage of IMFL.
The operation was conducted under the guidance of Mr. Chandan G.S., DANIPS, SDPO Rangat, with overall supervision by Ms. Shweta K. Sugathan, IPS, Superintendent of Police, North and Middle Andaman District.
