District Magistrate, South Andaman has made it mandatory to follow COVID Appropriate Behaviour and wearing of face masks/face cover in public places w.e.f 28th April 2022.
The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure in view of the evolving COVID-19 scenario in mainland as well as A & N Islands.
All Sub-Divisional Magistrates, Executive Magistrates, Revenue Officials of the rank Patwari and above, Sanitary Inspectors of PBMC, Panchayat Secretaries of RD Department, Food Safety Officers, GST Tax Inspectors and Police Personnel of the rank constable and above will enforce the order of the District Magistrate.
On 8th April 2022, District Magistrate, South Andaman had withdrawn the fines for violation of COVID related violations.
