A woman from Port Blair has lodged an FIR with police against her husband who claimed to be a Commandant of Border Security Force. The woman met her husband on a matrimonial website and upon interaction the man introduced himself as a Commandant of the Border Security Force.

After a few days, the man claimed that he has been transferred to Port Blair and also visited the woman’s house in June 2022. He claimed that he is an orphan and convinced the woman’s parents for their marriage.

After marriage, they started living separately and the man reportedly played long con with the woman. He used to go out of the house and posed as if he was going on duty. The woman in her complaint also informed that the man even wore the BSF Commandant Uniform a few times.

He informed the women later that he has qualified the exams for IAS/IPS and had to proceed to Delhi for the final selection process. He also forwarded an appointment letter by MHA to the women on Whatsapp.

When the man did not return for many months, the parents of the woman sent some of their family friends to the address of the man in Bengaluru. The family friends reported that the man may be a fraud after enquiring from the public of the area.

The parents of the women also paid around Rs. 8,00000/- to the man, which he demanded on several occasions for the construction of his house, preparation for IPS, etc.
