MCC Implementation Leads to Major Crackdown: Excise Cases Registered with Significant Liquor Recovery

The polling day for Lok Sabha Election -2024 is scheduled on 19/04/2024 across the Islands, the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) has been rigorously enforced since the announcement of elections on 16/03/2024. Police Station (PS) Pahargaon has demonstrated unwavering dedication to ensuring the MCC is upheld in true letter and spirit.

On 02/04/2024, the Excise team of PS Pahargaon comprising PCs S.N. Pathak, Santosh Lal, Sandeep Lakra, D. Shiv Kumar & Ashish Singh conducted a series of raids at several locations under PS Pahargaon’s jurisdiction. These operations resulted in the registration of 04 Excise cases against accused persons:

1. Dilip Kumar Thapa, aged 40, resident of Brookshabad

2. Mrs. D. Bhavani, aged 31, resident of Dollygunj Shiv Colony

3. Thirupati Kannan, aged 28, private worker, resident of Bathu Basti near Karpagam Hotel

4. Anil Kandulna, aged 45, resident of Dollygunj near Shiv Mandir

This led to the seizure of 119 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and 34 kilograms of illicit Handia.

The raids were conducted under the guidance of Miss Anushtha Kalia, IPS(P), SHO, PS Pahargaon, and Insp. Rahul under the supervision of Vikas, IPS, SDPO(S/A).

The general public is urged to play an active role in maintaining law and order by promptly reporting any instances of crime or illegal activities to the police at 100, 112 & 03192-250525. The identity of the informant will be kept secret.
