As part of the nationwide initiative “Aap Ki Poonji, Aap Ka Adhikar” (Your Money, Your Right), a mega facilitation camp will be held in Port Blair on 28th November 2025 (Friday) to help citizens trace and reclaim long-pending financial assets.

The camp, organised by the Union Territory Level Bankers’ Committee (UTLBC) Andaman & Nicobar Islands, will take place at the Conference Hall, SBI RSETI, 2nd Floor, SBI Complex, at 3 pm.

This programme is part of a three-month awareness and disbursement campaign launched by the Department of Financial Services (DFS) in coordination with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and financial sector regulators including IRDAI and SEBI.

The initiative aims to assist individuals in recovering unclaimed bank deposits, dormant insurance policies, inactive mutual fund holdings, unpaid dividends, unclaimed shares and other long-pending or inactive financial assets held across various financial institutions.

Officials from the Reserve Bank of India, IRDAI, LIC of India and all participating banks, along with the Regional Manager of State Bank of India, will attend the event.

According to data submitted by banks as of 31st August 2025, a total of 74,487 accounts in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, amounting to approximately ₹44.69 crore, remain unclaimed and have been transferred to the Depositors Education and Awareness (DEA) Fund.

During the camp, eligible claims will be verified and settled on the spot, covering unclaimed deposits, insurance proceeds, mutual fund units, pension amounts and other financial entitlements.

The Union Territory Level Bankers’ Committee has urged citizens and legal heirs in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands to participate in the camp and benefit from the public welfare initiative.
