The aftermath of a devastating fire at Billiground Bazaar has prompted urgent action from the Member of Parliament for Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma. In a bid to alleviate the plight of affected individuals, Sharma has petitioned the Hon’ble Lt. Governor to swiftly evaluate the damages and expedite compensation for those impacted.
The conflagration, which erupted at approximately 1:50 AM, razed 14 wooden shops to the ground, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. Highlighting the severity of the incident, Sharma emphasized that numerous livelihoods were intricately linked to the businesses housed within these shops and warehouses.
In a formal communication addressed to the Hon’ble Lt. Governor, Sharma underscored the urgent need for a comprehensive assessment of the losses suffered by both shop owners and traders affected by the fire. He stressed that the issuance of timely financial assistance is paramount in facilitating the recovery and rehabilitation efforts of those affected.
“Timely financial aid will help them recover and rebuild their livelihoods,” Sharma asserted, echoing the sentiments of many affected by the catastrophic blaze.
As the community grapples with the aftermath of the Billiground Bazaar inferno, the call for swift and decisive action to support those impacted resonates loudly, underscoring the imperative for immediate intervention and assistance in times of crisis.
