Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, Andaman and Nicobar Islands has pressed the Chief Secretary of the Andaman and Nicobar Administration for immediate repairs to city roads severely affected by the recent monsoon season.

In a formal letter directed to the Chief Secretary, the Member of Parliament highlighted the pressing need for swift action as the islands transition into a drier period lasting approximately 4 to 5 months. Sharma emphasised that this window offers a crucial opportunity to address the extensive road damages in Port Blair caused by heavy rainfall.

Drawing attention to critical routes such as Austinabad Road, New Pahar Gaon Road, Bhatu Basti to Dollygunj Road, and various other crucial stretches, Sharma underscored the urgency of addressing these issues promptly. He emphasized that these road conditions not only inconvenience residents but also pose significant safety risks, amplifying the likelihood of accidents.

Advocating for immediate action, Sharma urged the initiation of comprehensive road repair and maintenance projects to alleviate the plight of the citizens and ensure the safety of road users throughout the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

He emphasized that the expedited resolution of these road-related concerns would not only enhance public convenience but also play a pivotal role in safeguarding the well-being of the residents and visitors navigating the roads across the islands.
