MG Andaman Launches All-New ‘MG Hector 2026’, Delivers Seven Vehicles in a Day

Legacy Automobiles Private Limited, authorised dealer of JSW MG Motor India in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, organised an event titled ‘The Seven Stars of MG’ at Hotel Sinclair Bay View here on Sunday, marking the launch of the All-New MG Hector 2026 and the delivery of seven MG vehicles in a single day.

According to the organisers, the dealership also received five on-the-spot bookings during the event, reflecting customer interest in MG vehicles in the islands.

The programme was attended by Mr B. Binoy, Deputy Director, State Transport Authority, as Chief Guest, and Mr Pradeep Kumar, Chief Manager (SME), State Bank of India, as Guest of Honour. Representatives from JSW MG Motor India, including Area Sales Managers Mr Teja Kilari and Mr Abhinay Akula, were also present.

The highlight of the event was the unveiling of the All-New MG Hector 2026, which has been introduced at a starting price of ₹11.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The latest version of the SUV features design updates such as a redesigned grille and new alloy wheels, along with interior enhancements including a 14-inch infotainment system with gesture-based controls and voice command functionality. The model also offers Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including features such as adaptive cruise control.

Addressing the gathering, Directors of Legacy Automobiles, Mrs Urvee Eklavya Lall and Mrs Gouri Lall, stated that MG Andaman recorded the highest electric vehicle (EV) sales in the region during 2025, accounting for over 50 per cent of the EV market share in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. They added that the dealership has crossed the sale of 100 vehicles within its first year of operations.

The Directors also informed that JSW MG Motor India, in coordination with MG Andaman, is planning to establish electric vehicle charging stations at key locations across the islands to strengthen EV infrastructure.

The event concluded with the management reiterating its focus on customer service and its intention to retain the leading position in EV sales in the islands in 2026.
