Mr. Michael Yok, Chief Captain, Tribal Council, Katchal passed away yesterday (14th November 2022) at about 07:30 Am at PHC Katchal after prolonged illness.
Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Leaders of the Tribal Council of Nancowry and Members of the Katchal Settlers Welfare Association have expressed their condolences on the passing away of the Tribal Leader who led the development of Katchal.
Leaders of the Tribal Council of Nancowry and Members of the Katchal Settlers Welfare Association have prayed for strength to the family members of Mr. Michael Yok during this difficult time.
Mr. Michael Yok led the Tribal Council of Katchal since after the Tsunami. The Tsunami caused a lot of destruction at Katchal Island and led to hundreds of deaths. Mr. Michael Yok was instrumental in mitigating the destruction caused by the Tsunami.
