A Mini Marathon was organised by ICDS Project, Rangat, under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative on February 12 to create awareness about the importance of saving and educating the girl child.
The marathon saw enthusiastic participation from girls aged between 10 and 18 years representing various schools of Rangat. The participants displayed remarkable energy and commitment as they carried placards and spread messages promoting girl child education, safety and empowerment.
The event was flagged off by the Assistant Commissioner, Middle Andaman (SDM), Mr. Vikas Kumar. He appreciated the efforts of ICDS Project, Rangat, in organising the programme and stressed that educating and empowering girls is vital for the social and economic development of the nation.
The Child Development Project Officer (CDPO), ICDS Rangat, stated that the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign is a collective movement that calls for active participation from families, schools and society as a whole.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the support and cooperation extended by schools, teachers, Anganwadi workers and volunteers in making the event a success.
