A Mock Drill will be conducted this evening at 6:00 PM as part of routine Civil Defence preparedness measures aimed at assessing and enhancing emergency response capabilities across the region.
According to officials, the primary objectives of the drill are to test the operational readiness of all authorized sirens and to promote public awareness and preparedness for blackout procedures during emergencies.
As part of the drill, a siren will sound at 6:00 PM and continue for five minutes. During this time, residents are advised to switch off all light-emitting electrical appliances, including inverters, for a duration of 10 minutes. A second siren, lasting one minute, will be sounded at 6:10 PM to indicate the conclusion of the exercise, following which normal activities may resume.
Authorities have emphasized that the drill is designed to familiarize both emergency response personnel and the public with the standard protocols to be followed during real-life emergency situations.
All residents and stakeholders have been urged to cooperate fully and participate actively in the drill to ensure its success.
