As part of the ongoing Monsoon Book Reading Festival 2.0, the State Library, Sri Vijaya Puram, under the Directorate of Education, organised a series of engaging competitions for primary-level students on Sunday. The event was part of the month-long celebration being held on all Sundays of October 2025.

The activities included a Word Building Competition, Picture Hunt, and Draw Your Book contests designed for students from Classes I to V. The initiative aimed to promote reading habits, foster creativity, and provide a platform for young learners to express their love for literature. Students from both government and private schools across the islands participated with great enthusiasm.

During the prize distribution ceremony, Ms. Archana Singh, Deputy Director (Planning), Directorate of Education, who was the chief guest, interacted with the participants and encouraged them to make full use of the State Library’s facilities. She highlighted the library’s extensive collection of children’s books, storybooks, fiction, and resources for competitive exams, as well as its peaceful reading area. Ms. Singh also informed that similar weekly programmes would continue to be organised for students.

Prizes were awarded to the winners of the three competitions as a token of appreciation and motivation. The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Anbarasan, In-charge of the State Library.
