MORTH Advises States and UTs to Treat All Expired Vehicle Documents as Valid until 31st of March 2021

Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has issued advisory to all States and Union Territories to treat documents related to Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989 which has expired on or after 1st of February 2020 or is expiring by 31st of March 2021 to be valid till 31st of March 2021.

MORTH in its advisory to all States and Union Territories has specified the dates on which similar prior advisories were issued for treating the Fitness, Permit (All Types), Driving License, Registration or any other concerned document(s) as valid, whose extension of validity could not or not likely be granted due to lockdown. 

MORTH has further mentioned that the Pandemic situation is yet to become normal and Government needs to bring conductive situation for prevention of spread of COVID-19 across the country.

It has further advised the States and Union Territories to implement the advisory in letter and spirit so that the citizens, transporters and various other organisations which are operating under this difficult time during COVID Pandemic may not get harassed or face difficulties.
