The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways in a advisory to all States and Union Territories have asked to extend the validity of the Driving License, Registration Certificate, permits and all other documents whose validity could not be, or was not likely to be, granted due to lockdown and which has expired since 1st February 2020 or would expire by 30th June 2021 till 30th June 2021 in view of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Earlier similar advisories were issued on 30th March 2020, 9th June 2020, 24th August 2020 and 27th December 2020 to all states and union territories.

All States and Union Territories have been requested by MoRTH to implement the advisory in letter and spirit so that the citizens, the transporters and various other organisations , which are operating under this difficult time, may not get harassed and face difficulties.

    1. According to what I understand, Insurance is excluded since its validity cannot be extended by the Govt. and it is the prerogative of the Insurance Agency.
