Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, recently met Mr. Mansukh L. Mandaviya, Hon’ble Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, to advocate for a special package and focused attention on sports development in the islands.
During the meeting, Mr. Ray emphasized the immense talent of local youth and sportspersons in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, highlighting their potential to excel at the national level. He pointed out that the lack of coaching facilities, modern equipment, and resources has been a significant barrier to the growth of sports in the region.
The Minister appreciated Mr. Ray’s initiative and assured that the Ministry would consider providing funds if concrete and feasible proposals are submitted.
To gather actionable inputs, Mr. Ray has invited suggestions and proposals from sports enthusiasts, experts, and the general public. The MP urged the community to contribute proactively, ensuring that the region’s sporting talent receives the resources and opportunities it needs to thrive.
