Hon’ble Member of Parliament for the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, convened a meeting recently with the Deputy Commissioner of Car Nicobar and heads of various line departments to assess the progress of ongoing projects in the region.

During the meeting, Mr. Ray brought attention to several critical issues affecting the local tribal community. He discussed concerns including the need for road repairs, improvements in electricity supply, street lighting, and addressing water shortages. Additionally, he highlighted health-related issues, transportation challenges, and the pressing educational needs, particularly the shortage of teachers in the area. The MP underscored the urgency of resolving these grievances to enhance the quality of life for residents of Car Nicobar.

Mr. Ray’s visit to Car Nicobar began on 26th October, when he met with various organisations, including the Tribal Council, to hear firsthand about the challenges faced by the residents of the region. He was accompanied by senior BJP leader Mr. P Elango during his tour.

On the second day of his visit, 27th October, Mr. Ray toured several tribal villages, engaging with local residents, students, and health professionals to gain a deeper understanding of their issues.

After two days of discussions and visits, Mr. Ray returned to Sri Vijaya Puram in the afternoon of 28th October 2024.
