Hon’ble MP Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray has welcomed the clarification issued by the A&N Administration confirming that the process for establishing a dedicated Directorate of Information Technology is already underway.
In response to the MP’s earlier letter dated 22.05.2025, the Administration has stated that a detailed work study has been completed through ISTM (DoPT), and a comprehensive proposal covering IT cadre restructuring, creation of dedicated posts, budget allocation, and strengthening of IT governance is under consideration.
The MP expressed satisfaction over this positive step and stated that establishing an IT Directorate will significantly enhance digital governance and open new opportunities for the youth of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
