Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Secretary of the A&N Administration for promptly addressing the long-standing grievances of Guest Faculties working across various higher education institutions in the Islands.
In a statement, the MP commended the Administration’s decision to accord first preference to qualified existing Guest Faculties during the empanelment process for the academic session 2025–2026. This move applies to all government-run colleges including Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya (JNRM), Mahatma Gandhi Government College Mayabunder, Tagore Government College of Education, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology (DBRAIT), Andaman College (ANCOL), and Andaman Law College.
Mr. Ray, who had actively taken up the matter, appreciated the Administration’s considerate approach that safeguards the interests and livelihoods of Guest Faculties who have been consistently contributing to the education sector across the Islands for several years.
“This decision reflects the Administration’s sensitivity towards the dedicated services rendered by these educators and ensures continuity and fairness in the recruitment process,” the MP noted.
