Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, Andaman and Nicobar Islands recently inaugurated an Open Hall with a Small Office and Toilet at Dhobi Ghat, Prem Nagar in presence of Mrs. Amar Devi, Councillor, Ward No. 7, PBMC.
The construction of the structure was funded through MPLADS on demand of the people.
Mr. A. K Paul, Executive Engineer, PBMC, Mrs. K Anita Kumari, Executive Engineer, PBND, APWD and members of the Washermen Community and prominent citizens were present during the inauguration.
Mrs. Anita Kumari, EE, PBND, APWD informed that the cost of the project was Rs. 29,72,107/- and the work commenced on 04th December 2020.
Mr. M. K Rao, Secretary of Andaman and Nicobar Washermen Community appreciated the allotment of funds under MPLAD for the construction of such amenities for the washermen community.
Mr. Sharma expressed his joy on the completion of the project which has fulfilled a long pending demand of the washermen community.
Mrs. Shanta Laxman, Ex-Chairperson, PBMC, Mr. K Ganeshan, Ex-Chairperson, PBMC, Mr. Murugan, Ex-Chairperson, PBMC and Mrs. Zubaida Begum, Ex-Chairperson, PBMC also graced the inauguration function.
Mr. K R Raj, Social Worker of Ward No. 7 proposed the vote of thanks on the occasion.
