Encouraging the spirit of sportsmanship, culture, and community engagement, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, the Member of Parliament for Andaman and Nicobar Islands, marked a significant milestone on 3rd December 2023 by inaugurating the newly installed LED Flood Lights at Birdline Playground in Prothrapur, Ward Number 23. Funded under the MPLADS (Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme), this initiative aims to foster a vibrant atmosphere for sports and cultural activities within the community.
The decision to install LED Flood Lights at Birdline Playground aligns with the MP’s vision to empower the youth through constructive engagements such as sports and cultural activities. Recognizing the dearth of such comprehensive facilities in the area, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma emphasized the importance of maximizing the use of this newly established amenity, particularly highlighting its potential impact on the local youth and the broader community.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed an enthusiastic gathering of local residents, including children, who eagerly participated in the event. Alongside the inauguration, a vibrant cultural program and an engaging cricket match were organized, adding to the celebratory atmosphere. Notable figures present at the event included Mrs. S Selvi, Chairperson of PBMC (Port Blair Municipal Council), Mr. Tej Bahadur, Chief Engineer of APWD (Andaman Public Works Department), and Ms. D Radhika, the Ward Councillor for Ward Number 23.
The installation of LED Flood Lights at Birdline Playground stands as a testament to the commitment of local authorities and representatives to provide comprehensive facilities for fostering sportsmanship, cultural enrichment, and community cohesion.
