In a dedicated effort to prioritize women’s health and hygiene, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament representing the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, spearheaded the distribution of complimentary sanitary pads across the villages of Wandoor, Hasmatabad, and Guptapara. These initiatives were accompanied by Health Awareness Camps tailored to uplift rural women’s well-being, drawing a significant turnout of village women and girls.
Emphasizing the paramount importance of menstrual hygiene, Sharma addressed the assembled crowds across these locations, stressing the imperative nature of awareness regarding the use of sanitary napkins or pads among women.
“Women constitute the robust foundation of our society, and their health deserves utmost attention and care,” expressed the Member of Parliament, underlining the necessity of safeguarding women’s health.
The distribution drives accompanied by health-focused educational programs not only provided access to essential sanitary products but also aimed to empower women with knowledge and understanding about menstrual health and hygiene practices.
Sharma’s proactive approach toward fostering awareness and accessibility to menstrual hygiene products underscores a pivotal stride toward bridging the gap in health resources for women in the region.
