Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, the Member of Parliament representing Andaman and Nicobar Islands, inaugurated and laid foundation for several key projects aimed at enhancing community infrastructure and fostering youth fitness in various regions.
One of the notable projects was the foundation stone laying ceremony for a community hall at Khudiram Pur in Diglipur, funded under the MPLADS (Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme). The community had persistently requested the construction of this hall to serve as a central hub for religious functions, cultural events, social gatherings, and family functions. Once completed, it is anticipated to benefit not only the residents of Khudiram Pur but also the surrounding areas.
Addressing another long-pending demand, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma inaugurated an Open Community Hall at Talbagan, which was also constructed under the MPLADS fund. The hall is now accessible for a spectrum of purposes including religious ceremonies, cultural events, and social gatherings. The decision to initiate this project stemmed from the persistent appeals made by villagers in the region. The inauguration witnessed a sizable turnout of PRI members and local residents who celebrated the occasion.
In a remarkable move to promote fitness and well-being among the youth, the Member of Parliament unveiled a modern gym in Shibpur area, Diglipur, established under the MPLADS funds. This contemporary fitness centre equipped with state-of-the-art facilities is expected to encourage the youths of the region to engage in bodybuilding, fitness routines, and daily workouts. The initiative was conceived following numerous requests from the region’s youth for a modern gym facility.
