MP Lays Foundation Stone for Anganwadi Centre and Multipurpose Hall in Ward No. 10 of PBMC

In a significant development for the residents of Machi Lane, Ward No. 10, Port Blair, the Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, laid the foundation stone for the construction of an Anganwadi Centre on the ground floor and a Multipurpose Hall on the first floor of the same building.

This ambitious project, sanctioned under the Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS), is set to transform the community with an estimated cost of Rs. 39,94,660.

The decision to undertake this vital construction project was a response to the persistent demands of the local residents. Once completed, the building will serve as an Anganwadi center, providing a space for various educational and developmental activities for children and mothers in the community. Additionally, the Multipurpose Hall on the first floor will be made available for a wide range of community events, including festivals, religious ceremonies, marriage receptions, and other social gatherings.

During the foundation-laying ceremony, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma was joined by several dignitaries and local representatives. Ward Councillor Smti. T. Mangayarkarasi, Councillor for Ward Number 8 Mrs. Laxmi Ganeshan, Councillor for Ward Number 12 Mrs. Vasantha, Councillor for Ward Number 4 Mr. Abdul Islam, and Councillor for Ward Number 19 Mr. V Vetrivelu, along with PBMC officials and social workers, Mr. Tamil Selvam, Mr. K Ganeshan, and Mr. R K Raj, were present during this auspicious occasion.

This community-oriented project is expected to have a lasting impact on the residents of Machi Lane and is a testament to the commitment of local leadership to improving the quality of life for the people in Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

The construction work is set to commence soon, marking the beginning of a new era of development for this area. Residents eagerly anticipate the completion of the Anganwadi Centre and Multipurpose Hall, which will serve as focal points for community enrichment and social engagement.
