Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, Andaman and Nicobar Islands marked a significant milestone by laying the foundation stone for the Construction of a Cement Concrete (CC) road, complete with drainage and a Box culvert at Japan Road end, Dairy Farm, Ward Number 14, this past Saturday.
This much-anticipated development project, with an estimated cost of Rs. 19,05,812/-, was sanctioned under the Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS). It is set to bring substantial improvements to the area, primarily benefiting the residents of Dairy Farm.
The project encompasses the construction of a CC road spanning 75 meters in length and 2.50 meters in width. In addition, a CC drain measuring 75 meters and an RCC retaining wall, extending 9.00 meters, will be constructed as part of this comprehensive development initiative. These upgrades promise to enhance the connectivity and living conditions for the residents, offering convenience and long-term sustainability.
The decision to undertake this project was a result of persistent demands from the local population, underscoring the responsiveness of Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, to the concerns and aspirations of the people he represents. The project is poised to make the everyday lives of Dairy Farm residents more comfortable and efficient.
During the foundation-laying ceremony, the event was graced by the presence of Mrs. S Selvi, Chairperson of the Port Blair Municipal Council (PBMC), and Mr. B. Padmanabhan, Councillor of Ward No-15. Also in attendance was the Jr. Vice Chairperson, Mr. Joga Rao, Councillor of Ward No. 14. The dignitaries, along with local residents, expressed their optimism for the positive changes that the CC road, drainage, and Box culvert project would bring to the Dairy Farm community.
