In a recent appeal to the Andaman Public Works Department (APWD), Bishnu Pada Ray, the Hon’ble Member of Parliament for the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, has called for the urgent repair of the road stretch between School Line and Dairy Farm Junction.

In his letter to the Chief Engineer of APWD, Mr. Ray highlighted the worsening condition of the road following the replacement of old pipelines. The work involved digging up the median stretch of the road, which has since been left with only a temporary fix, leaving the road in a deplorable state.

The MP emphasized that the deterioration of the road has turned it into a significant hazard for commuters, particularly two-wheeler riders, the elderly, and patients. The poor condition of the road is causing severe difficulties for the general public, and the safety of all those who use this route is at serious risk.

Mr. Ray has urged APWD to prioritise the proper repair and re-laying of the road to ensure the well-being and safety of the public, stressing the need for immediate action in the interest of the general public.
