Member of Parliament Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, representing the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, has formally appealed to the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests regarding the delayed disbursement of December 2023 salaries for employees at the Mill Division Chatham.

Expressing deep concern in a letter directed to the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Sharma highlighted the deviation from the regular practice of disbursing salaries by the 1st of each month. The Forest Labour Union at the Mill Division Chatham brought this issue to the attention of the Member of Parliament, citing the significant challenges posed by this delay, particularly during the forthcoming festive season in January, encompassing celebrations like Pongal and Makar Sankranti.

The delayed payment has raised significant concerns among employees, affecting their ability to prepare adequately for the upcoming festivities. Sharma emphasised the pivotal role of timely salary disbursement in enabling employees and their families to make necessary arrangements for the festive period.

The formal request submitted by the Member of Parliament aims to address the immediate need for salary disbursement, ensuring that employees can adequately participate in and enjoy the festive celebrations without facing financial constraints.
