The Branch MSME–Development & Facilitation Office (MSME-DFO), under the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Government of India, organised a one-day Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme at Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya (JNRM), Sri Vijaya Puram, on January 23, 2026, with the aim of fostering entrepreneurial awareness among students, aspiring entrepreneurs and local youth.
The programme was conducted to promote an entrepreneurial culture, motivate potential entrepreneurs and familiarise participants with the institutional and financial support available under various MSME schemes of the Government of India. A total of 62 participants attended the programme, of whom around 60 per cent belonged to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) community.
Dr. Pearl Devdas, Principal, JNRM, Sri Vijaya Puram, graced the occasion and encouraged students to explore entrepreneurship as a viable career option. During the programme, Mr. G. K. Sinha highlighted the range of government schemes and support mechanisms available for the development of entrepreneurship and MSMEs.
Officials and representatives from the State Bank of India (SBI), NABARD and the Directorate of Industries also addressed the participants, sharing valuable insights on financial assistance, credit linkage, institutional support and employment generation opportunities for budding entrepreneurs.
The programme concluded with interactive sessions, enabling participants to gain clarity on starting and sustaining micro, small and medium enterprises.
