The District Industries Centre, Department of Industries, is stepping up efforts to empower local Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the Union Territory of Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Aimed at fostering growth and expanding market access, the Centre is promoting the use of the MSME Global Mart portal, developed by the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) under the Ministry of MSME.

The portal, www.msmemart.com, is a dynamic B2B digital platform designed to support MSMEs in showcasing their products and services while connecting them with potential buyers and business opportunities worldwide. The platform provides features such as tender alerts, franchise and subcontracting opportunities, trade leads, and updates on government schemes and business events.

The portal offers a wide array of tools, including:

– Digital Presence: An online platform to showcase MSMEs’ products and services.

– Tender Alerts: Keyword-based notifications for tenders and global tender notices.

– Contract Updates: Award of Contract (AOC) notifications.

– Business Opportunities: Franchise opportunities, subcontracting, distribution offers, and trade leads.

– ICT Solutions: Special tools and access to government schemes, events, and exhibitions.

To further enhance its offerings, NSIC is introducing State-Specific Pavilions on the platform. These virtual pavilions will spotlight district-specific products under the One District One Product (ODOP) scheme and Geographical Indication (GI)-tagged items. By showcasing the unique business activities and core competencies of different states, these pavilions aim to bridge local MSMEs with national and global markets.

The Department of Industries has emphasised the importance of onboarding MSMEs in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands onto this platform. By registering on www.msmemart.com, local businesses can unlock new growth opportunities, connect with a larger customer base, and contribute to strengthening the regional economy.
