Multi-speciality Health Camp Held at PHC Garacharma under Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan

A Multi-speciality Health Camp was organized at PHC Garacharma on 26th September 2025, under the Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan (SNSPA), aimed at promoting women’s health and preventive care. The program was inaugurated by Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, who lit the ceremonial lamp as the chief guest.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Ray emphasized the importance of combating anaemia, urging children to undergo anaemia screening and maintain a nutritious diet rich in iron. He also encouraged women to participate in regular screening for early detection of anaemia, hypertension, diabetes, and oral cancer.

The event was attended by senior health officials including Dr. Suja Antony, Director of Health Services; Dr. H. M. Siddaraju, Deputy Director (FW)/Joint Secretary (RCH-II); Dr. M. Joy, CMO I/c PHC Garacharma; Ms. Radhika Dheeraj, Senior Vice Chairperson, SVPMC; and Mr. V. Vetrivelu, Councillor Ward No. 19.

Dr. M. Joy introduced the program and highlighted the main objectives of SNSPA, focusing on women’s health empowerment through preventive care. The camp offered a wide range of health services including gynaecology, paediatric, ENT, dermatology, dental check-ups, NCD screenings, TB and anaemia screenings, ANC check-ups, immunization services, as well as awareness sessions on menstrual hygiene and nutrition for women.

In collaboration with ICDS, Anganwadi Workers (AWWs) showcased food baskets and conducted healthy recipe demonstrations. The camp witnessed active participation, with 90 beneficiaries availing various health services.
