In a concerted effort to extend healthcare services to remote regions, the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Diglipur, in collaboration with the Forest Department and District Health Society Unit, N & M Andaman, organized a multi-specialty outreach Reproductive and Child Health (RCH) Health Camp at Gopalnagar-2 village.
Under the directive of the Chairman, District Health Society, N & M Andaman, the camp aimed to address the healthcare needs of residents in one of the remotest areas of the region. Led by Dr. Arnold specialising in pain management, the medical team comprised Dr. Shipra Mistry specialising in Ayurveda, Dr. Rahim specialising in Homeopathy, and Dr. Diksha specialising in Dental care. Alongside them were dedicated field staff from CHC Diglipur.
The camp drew a substantial turnout from the community, with individuals spanning across various age groups, including children and elderly individuals, availing the services provided. Dr. Shipra Mistry conducted an informative session on oral, breast, and cervical cancer awareness, emphasising the importance of self-examination techniques for early detection.
A wide array of services were offered during the camp, ranging from allopathic, ayurvedic, homeopathic, and dental consultations to non-communicable disease (NCD) screening and tuberculosis (TB) screening. Additionally, a yoga session and adolescent health education were conducted, underscoring the holistic approach to healthcare delivery.
Medicines for general ailments were distributed among the attendees, ensuring immediate relief and ongoing support for their health needs. In total, approximately 50 individuals were beneficiaries of the camp, highlighting the significant impact of such outreach initiatives in bridging healthcare disparities in remote regions.
