The Directorate of Health Services, in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare and Gram Panchayat Mannarghat, organized a Multispeciality Health Camp at the Community Hall, Mannarghat, under PHC Wimberlygunj, as part of the ongoing Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar (SNSP) Abhiyan.
The programme began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray. The event was also attended by Dr. Suja Antony, Director of Health Services; Dr. H. M. Siddaraju, Deputy Director (FW) / Joint Secretary (RCH-II); Ms. Sajjida Banu, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Mannarghat; and Mr. Nophal, Up-Pradhan.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Ray emphasized the importance of addressing health challenges such as anaemia, tuberculosis (TB), and non-communicable diseases (NCDs) among women. He urged school children to participate in anaemia screening and highlighted the role of nutritious diets in combating the condition. He also encouraged women to make full use of the camp’s screening services for anaemia, hypertension, diabetes, and oral cancer.
Dr. H. M. Siddaraju presented a detailed PowerPoint on the various screening procedures and health interventions being conducted under the SNSP Abhiyan.
The camp provided a wide range of specialized healthcare services, including consultations with gynaecologists, paediatricians, ENT specialists, and dental surgeons, along with NCD, TB, anaemia, and sickle-cell screenings. Sessions on menstrual hygiene and women’s nutrition were also conducted. In collaboration with ICDS, Anganwadi workers displayed a food basket and healthy recipes to promote better dietary practices.
Adding to the festive spirit, the Gram Panchayat Mannarghat organized cultural programmes, featuring performances by children from local schools and Anganwadi Centres.
A total of 147 beneficiaries availed the services during the camp, marking the event as a successful example of community participation and convergence of health services.
The SNSP Abhiyan at Mannarghat concluded in a spirit of health awareness and festivity, reinforcing the ongoing commitment to empower women and improve family health in the region.
