MY Bharat, an initiative of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, is actively mobilising youth across the country to enrol as MY Bharat Civil Defence Volunteers. This nationwide call is part of a focused effort to empower young citizens to take up vital roles in service of the nation, especially during emergencies and crises. The initiative aims to build a well-trained, responsive, and resilient volunteer force to support the civil administration during natural disasters, accidents, public emergencies, and other unforeseen situations.
In light of the current scenario and emerging security concerns, there is a pressing need to establish a robust, community-based response mechanism. Civil Defence Volunteers play a pivotal role in this regard by assisting local authorities through a wide range of services, including rescue and evacuation operations, first aid and emergency care, traffic regulation, crowd management, public safety, and disaster response and rehabilitation efforts. The need for a prepared and trained civilian force has never been more important, and MY Bharat is proud to contribute to this national mission.
MY Bharat, therefore, appeals to its dynamic network of youth volunteers—and all enthusiastic young citizens—to come forward and register as MY Bharat Civil Defence Volunteers. Both existing MY Bharat volunteers and new individuals who are passionate about serving the nation are encouraged to join. This initiative fosters a strong sense of civic responsibility and discipline among youth, while also equipping them with practical, life-saving skills and the ability to respond effectively in critical situations.
