A series of grim discoveries has rocked the shores of Little Andaman, as multiple unidentified dead bodies in advanced stages of decomposition have been recovered over the past few days. The unsettling findings have spurred an urgent investigation by local authorities.
On the 14th of December, two bodies were retrieved from the seashore of Chattan Beach and Harminder Bay Beach in Hutbay, Little Andaman. Subsequently, two Un-Natural Death (UD) First Information Reports (FIRs) were filed at the Hutbay Police Station to initiate an investigation into these distressing occurrences. The bodies, found in advanced stages of decomposition, are currently preserved for identification purposes.
The unsettling trend continued with nine more unidentified bodies discovered on the 15th and 16th of December. The locations where these bodies were found include near Machi Dera, Kalapather Beach, seashore near the Christian graveyard, seashore near John Richardson Beach, seashore near Netaji Nagar Sea Shore and Breakwater at Hutbay Jetty. Each discovery prompted the filing of additional UD FIRs at the Hutbay Police Station, intensifying efforts to uncover the identities and circumstances surrounding these tragic incidents. The bodies, found in advanced stages of decomposition, are currently preserved for identification purposes.
In light of these distressing events, the authorities have issued a plea to the public. Individuals are urged to come forward with any information that might assist in identifying the deceased. Concerned citizens are encouraged to contact the Police at phone numbers 112, 03192-232100, 03192-284208, and 03192-236641. Additionally, those who suspect a missing person within their circle are urged to reach out or visit the Police Station in Hut Bay promptly to aid in the identification or claiming of the deceased bodies.
