The Revenue Officials of North & Middle Andaman District have achieved a significant milestone in their ongoing encroachment eviction drive, marking the successful completion of the sixth day of operations. This concerted effort has resulted in the restoration of public lands to Government ownership, reclaiming valuable resources for the benefit of the community.

Commencing on May 8, 2024, the encroachment eviction drive spearheaded by Revenue Officials has been pivotal in identifying and reclaiming Government-owned lands unlawfully occupied by encroachers. Prioritising the restoration of these lands to their rightful status under Government khata, the drive has made substantial headway in upholding the rule of law and fostering transparent governance.

On the sixth day of the operation, a commendable feat was achieved as Revenue Officials evicted approximately 11,000 square meters of land, encompassing Arecanut and Banana Plantations at Shyamnagar, Diglipur, along with 3,500 square meters of land at Kadamtala village, all of which were subsequently restored to Government khata. This meticulous process, executed through systematic planning and stringent enforcement measures, has resulted in the successful reinstatement of several land parcels to Government ownership, thereby ensuring their utilisation for public welfare projects and infrastructural development.

The District Administration extends its commendation to the unwavering dedication and professionalism exhibited by Revenue Department officials, law enforcement agencies, and all stakeholders involved in the encroachment eviction drive. The collaborative efforts of these entities have been instrumental in achieving tangible results and advancing the administration’s objectives of promoting good governance and sustainable development.

This milestone underscores the administration’s commitment to upholding the integrity of public lands and fostering equitable access to resources for the betterment of the community. As the encroachment eviction drive continues, the administration remains steadfast in its resolve to safeguard Government-owned lands and uphold the principles of justice and accountability.
