In celebration of its 44th Foundation Day, the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) is set to organize a vibrant Exhibition-cum-Sale of Self Help Group (SHG) products at the ITF Ground, Port Blair, on July 19 and 20, 2025.

The two-day event aims to showcase NABARD’s four-decade-long journey in promoting rural development, financial inclusion, and sustainable livelihoods across the country, with a special focus on the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Over 100 SHGs and more than 40 artisans from various parts of the Islands will participate in the exhibition, presenting a wide array of locally made products. These include Geographical Indication (GI) tagged goods, intricate handicrafts, seashell artifacts, organic produce, traditional textiles, processed foods, and eco-friendly innovations — all reflecting the rich cultural and ecological heritage of the Islands.

The exhibition is part of NABARD’s ongoing efforts to strengthen rural economies through capacity building, skill development, market linkage facilitation, and financial literacy programs. It offers a platform for SHGs to access broader markets and connect directly with consumers.

Residents of the Islands and visiting tourists have been warmly invited to attend the event, support local SHGs, and contribute to the inclusive development of the region.
