Students from the Nancowrie education zone delivered remarkable performances at the 9th State-Level Competition for Children with Special Needs held at Netaji Stadium, Sri Vijaya Puram, from November 28 to December 1, 2025.

The event saw participation from students representing nine zones across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, providing a platform for children with diverse abilities to showcase their talent, skill and determination.

Two participants from the Nancowrie Zone secured medals in different categories. Nicolas, a student of GMS Pilpillow, won a silver medal in the shot put event under the Locomotor Disability category. Wellington from GMSS Kamorta earned two bronze medals — one in Chess and another in Ball Tracking under the Visual Impairment category.

The competition was aimed at fostering inclusivity, encouraging participation in sports and promoting equal opportunities for Children with Special Needs (CwSN).

Organisers, teachers and fellow participants extended their congratulations to the winners for their inspiring achievements and exceptional performances. (Story Based on PR)
