In a relentless pursuit against the drug trade, the Narcotics Cell of the CID made a significant breakthrough by seizing a total of 34.36 grams of methamphetamine and apprehending two individuals in separate operations.
Acting on precise intelligence, a dedicated team comprising Inspector S. Kannan, SI Mohd. Rahil Islam, ASI Sanjay Yadav, HC/1176 Sharfudeen, PC/1173 Ratan Das, PC/2772 Nandita Mistry, PC/2871 Vishal Kumar, and PC/2836 M. Raja Rao, under the guidance of Mr. Vinay Mathur, DANIPS, Dy.SP, Narcotics, intercepted Mohammed Shakil, 31, a private Tours and Travels operator residing in Garacharma. Shakil was intercepted in Jirkatang while en route to Billiground, found with 1.53 grams of methamphetamine concealed in his shoe. He was promptly arrested, and the contraband was confiscated following proper procedures.
Continuing their crackdown, the team conducted a raid based on further intelligence on the following day, the 29th of November, at Indira Nagar, Mamyo near Arthe Hotel. This operation led to the seizure of 32.83 grams of methamphetamine from Salim Berla, 38, a private labourer residing in Mamyo, Wandoor. Berla was apprehended, and the contraband was confiscated in accordance with the law.
Both cases have been registered under Sections 22(a) and 22(b) of the NDPS Act 1985 at PS CCS, and investigations into these cases are actively ongoing.
