Narcotics Cell of CID Unit Seizes 5.277 Kgs of Ganja, Arrests Accused

In an ongoing battle against narcotics, a significant interception was made by the Police Team from Narcotics Cell, CID Unit, resulting in the apprehension of Mr. Ashis Majhi (36) at Port Blair. Acting on precise intelligence, the team, led by Inspector S. Kannan and comprising SI Mohd. Rahil Islam, ASI Sanjay Yadav, and several other officers, oversaw the operation under the supervision of Mr. Vinay Mathur, DANIPS, Dy.SP, Narcotics.

Mr. Majhi, a resident of Subash Gram, Diglipur, North and Middle Andaman, arrived via a Spicejet flight from Kolkata on November 15, 2023. Upon his arrival, the team conducted a meticulous inspection and discovered a hidden stash of 5.277 Kgs of Ganja concealed in his bag. Without delay, the team seized the contraband and promptly arrested Mr. Majhi, adhering to all procedural formalities.

A case has been registered under pertinent sections of the NDPS Act-1985 at PS CCS, and investigations are actively ongoing to delve deeper into the matter.
