On August 9, 2024, National De-worming Day was observed in schools and Anganwadi Centers across the Union Territory, aiming to safeguard the health of children aged 1 to 19 years. A State-Level program, organized by the Directorate of Health Services in collaboration with the UT Health Mission, was held at the Conference Hall of Government Senior Secondary School (GSSS), Mohanpura, to mark the event.

Dr. Anil Agarwal, Mission Director of the UT Health Mission, presided over the program as the chief guest. He emphasised the critical role of personal hygiene in preventing worm infestations and urged students, teachers, and parents to recognise the significance of the de-worming initiative.

Dr. Suja Antony, Director of Health Services, and Ms. S. Bhawani, Principal of GSSS, Mohanpura, attended as guests of honour. During the event, Dr. P. Lal, Joint Secretary (RCH-II) and in-charge, delivered a keynote address highlighting the objectives of the day, while the school principal shared her insights on the importance of the program.

In a symbolic gesture, the guests administered Albendazole tablets to the children, officially launching the de-worming campaign. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. V.A. Mohd. Ashraf, Health Educator at the Directorate of Health Services.
