National Girl Child Day was celebrated with fervor at the Subashgram-1 Anganwadi Center under the ICDS Project Diglipur. The event highlighted the importance of gender equality and the empowerment of girls, drawing active participation from officials, community members, and children.
The program commenced with Ms. Indira Devi, Child Development Project Officer, welcoming the Chief Guest, Guests of Honor, and other dignitaries. In her address, she underscored the significance of promoting gender equality and empowering girls to build a future where they can access equal opportunities and realize their full potential.
Chief Guest Mr. Rajendra Kumar, Block Development Officer, delivered an inspiring speech emphasizing the need for sustained efforts to ensure equal access to education, healthcare, and social development for girls. He reiterated the government’s commitment to their welfare and spotlighted ongoing initiatives aimed at improving their lives. Mr. Kumar also distributed prizes to young girls for their outstanding performances in poetry recitation, dance, and other activities.
Guest of Honor Dr. Shipra Mistry, Medical Officer (Ayurveda), shared valuable insights on the health and nutrition needs of girl children. She highlighted the importance of early healthcare interventions and regular check-ups to support their growth and well-being.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Divya Raj, Mukhya Sevika of the ICDS Project Diglipur, expressing gratitude to all participants and contributors for making the event a success.
The celebration served as a powerful reminder of the collective responsibility to create an equitable society where every girl child is empowered to thrive.
