The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Andaman & Nicobar Islands, will organise a National Lok Adalat on March 14, 2026, at multiple locations across the Islands to facilitate amicable settlement of disputes.

The Lok Adalat will be conducted at the District Court Complex in Port Blair, the Sub-Divisional Court Complex in Mayabunder, and the Circuit Courts at Diglipur and Campbell Bay.

In addition to compoundable cases pending before various courts, the Lok Adalat will also take up pre-litigation disputes for disposal through mutual consent of the parties concerned.

The categories of pre-litigation disputes that may be considered include cases under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act (cheque bounce cases), money recovery matters, labour disputes, electricity and water bill disputes (excluding non-compoundable cases), maintenance cases, civil disputes, and matters under the Consumer Protection Act.

Members of the public who have disputes at either the pre-litigation or post-litigation stage and are willing to resolve them through settlement may submit their applications in writing to the Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Port Blair, on or before March 6, 2026. This will enable the cases to be processed and listed for hearing during the National Lok Adalat on March 14.
