The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Andaman & Nicobar Islands, will organize the National Lok Adalat on June 21, 2025, at multiple locations including the District Court Complex in Port Blair, the Sub-Divisional Court Complex in Mayabunder, and the Circuit Court in Diglipur.
The Adalat will take up both pre-litigation and pending compoundable cases for settlement through mutual agreement between the parties. Disputes eligible for resolution include cases under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, money recovery matters, labour disputes, electricity and water bill cases (excluding non-compoundable matters), maintenance claims, civil disputes, and issues under the Consumer Protection Act.
Members of the public who wish to resolve disputes—either at the pre-litigation or post-litigation stage—are encouraged to submit their cases in writing to the Secretary, DLSA, Port Blair, on or before June 16, 2025. This will allow for timely processing and inclusion in the hearing schedule of the upcoming National Lok Adalat. (Story Based on PR)
