Read the Greetings of the Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Andaman and Nicobar Islands on the National Press Day 2021:
I extend my heartiest greetings to all journalists from the media fraternity of Andaman and Nicobar Islands on National Press Day.
National Press Day is celebrated every year on November 16 to commemorate the establishment of the Press Council of India which was formed in 1966.
This day marks the symbol of a free and responsible press in India as the Press Council acts as a moral watchdog for the media.
I acknowledge the hardship and risks involved in conduct of the profession world over, especially in a remote state like Andaman and Nicobar Islands and appreciate the role played by the media in these Islands.
I express gratitude to the media fraternity for going about their duty professionally without fear or favour.
