National Science Day Celebrated at Science Centre in Sri Vijaya Puram

The Science Centre, Sri Vijaya Puram, celebrated National Science Day with enthusiasm on February 28, 2025, commemorating the discovery of the Raman Effect by Nobel laureate Sir C.V. Raman. This year’s theme, “Empowering Indian Youth for Global Leadership in Science and Innovation for Viksit Bharat,” emphasized the role of young minds in shaping the nation’s scientific future.

As part of the celebrations, various competitions were organized to promote scientific awareness and curiosity among students. A total of 682 students from different schools across Sri Vijaya Puram participated in these events, showcasing their knowledge and enthusiasm for science.

Dr. Jatinder Sohal, Director of Science & Technology, A & N Administration, graced the occasion as the chief guest and awarded trophies and certificates to the winners of competitions held during the Science Week. In his address, Dr. Sohal praised the Science Centre for its innovative educational programs, highlighting their role in fostering scientific temperament among students.

Welcoming the gathering, Mr. Debashis Paul, Education Officer, Science Centre, emphasized the Centre’s significance in nurturing young scientific minds. He noted that with its interactive exhibits and engaging programs, the Science Centre provides an ideal environment for students to explore and develop their scientific curiosity.
