Navodhaya Foundation, a prominent NGO working in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, held a press conference at Hotel Shompen to introduce its newly formed committee and unveil plans for an upcoming health camp at Hope Town. The event underscored the organisation’s steadfast dedication to creating positive social change in the region.
During the recent Annual General Meeting of the society, a new committee was constituted, comprising passionate individuals with diverse expertise and a shared commitment to improving the lives of the islanders.
While Mrs. Protima Banerjee continues to serve as the Director of the NGO, the newly elected leadership includes Mr. Saikat Biswas, an Air Force veteran and local entrepreneur, as the President, and Mr. Tanveer Singh, a renowned hotelier and social worker, as the General Secretary. Entrepreneur Mr. Aditya Vikram Puria has been elected as the Treasurer.

Addressing the media, Mrs. Protima Banerjee, the Director of Navodhaya Foundation and former Senior Vice Chairperson and Councillor of PBMC, shared the organization’s mission to empower social workers and professionals to create a meaningful impact on the social and emotional growth of underprivileged sections in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
In keeping with their commitment to serving the community, Navodhaya Foundation also announced an upcoming health camp scheduled to be held at Hope Town on 27th July 2023. The health camp is being organized in association with GD Goenka Healthcare Academy and Ritikas Diagnostic Solutions, and aims to provide much-needed healthcare services to the residents of Hope Town.
The foundation’s new committee, driven by their passion and expertise, seeks to enhance their efforts to bring positive change and upliftment to the lives of the islanders. With the upcoming health camp, Navodhaya Foundation continues to demonstrate its unwavering commitment to the welfare of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands’ community.
