Car Nicobar is set to witness a major youth event as the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) will be organising a one-day ‘Yuva Utsav: India@2047’ program on October 22 at Priyadarshini Hall, Tamaloo. The event, part of the ongoing ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations, aims to foster patriotism and remind the youth of India’s rich legacy of freedom and values.

The program, hosted by Nehru Yuva Kendra, Car Nicobar, in collaboration with the Nicobar District Administration and Village Councils, promises to be a vibrant platform for young talents to showcase their skills. It is part of a broader initiative, ‘India@2047,’ which envisions a future where the youth play a pivotal role in nation-building. The events will span multiple categories and culminate in district, state, and national-level competitions.

Participants, aged 15 to 29 (as of September 30, 2024), will compete in a series of creative and cultural contests, including:

1. Science Mela Exhibition: A platform for both individual and group participants to present their scientific innovations and ideas.

2. Young Artists Camp – Painting (Theme: Panch Prans): Budding artists will showcase their creativity under the theme of “Panch Prans,” a vision of five guiding principles for India’s future.

3. Young Writers Camp – Poetry (Theme: Panch Prans): Poets will be invited to express their thoughts and imagination through verses inspired by the theme of Panch Prans.

4. Photography Workshop (Theme: Panch Prans): Amateur photographers will capture images reflecting the spirit of the Panch Prans.

5. Declamation Contest (Theme: Panch Prans): Participants will engage in passionate speeches on the theme, encouraging dialogue on India’s vision for 2047.

6. Cultural Festival: A celebration of India’s rich cultural diversity, featuring group performances in folk dances, classical dances, traditional music, and instrumental showcases.

To recognise the talent of young participants, awards will be given to the top three winners in each category, along with certificates of participation.

The event is expected to draw a large number of youth from across Car Nicobar, contributing to the growing momentum of national celebrations.
