New COVID-19 Protocols for Travellers Visiting and Travelling Within Andaman and Nicobar Islands

In supersession to earlier orders and circulars issued from time to time by A&N Administration regarding COVID management in A&N Islands following are the COVID-19 protocols to be followed for travellers in A&N Islands with immediate effect: 

  1. All asymptomatic children below 12 years of age are exempted from RT-PCR test to travel to A&N Islands by sea/air route. 
  2. People above 12 years of age intending to travel from mainland who are not vaccinated /partially vaccinated against COVID-19 will have to undertake RT-PCR test in mainland within 48 hours before commencing such journey to A&N Islands. They will also be tested at Point of Entry. 
  3. All asymptomatic passengers undertaking journey to inter-island sectors are exempted from any type of COVID-19 testing irrespective of their vaccination status. 
  4. All symptomatic passengers travelling from mainland or travelling to inter-island sectors must undergo RT-PCR testing within 48 hours of commencement of journey irrespective of their age group and vaccination status.
