Mr. Anil Kumar Tiwari, newly elected State President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, paid a courtesy visit to Admiral D. K. Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM, (Retd.) Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor and Vice‑Chairman of the Islands Development Agency, at Raj Niwas on 9th July 2025.
During the meeting, the Hon’ble Lt Governor extended his congratulations to Mr. Tiwari on assuming the new role and conveyed his best wishes for a successful and impactful tenure in service of the Islands’ people.
Mr. Tiwari was officially appointed to the position on July 1, 2025, succeeding Mr. Ajoy Bairagi, in a formal internal election where he ran unopposed.
At the formal introduction event, Mr. Tiwari had pledged to tackle local concerns promptly.
Expressing gratitude, he had personally thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President J.P. Nadda, and Organisation General Secretary B.L. Santosh for placing their confidence in him after his appointment as the state president.
